WHY DESIGN MATTERS
First impressions aren't everything, but they’re a good place to start.DESIGN MATTERS is a creative branding and design studio helping female-founded brands stand out in a way that feels confident, considered, and true to who they are. That’s what great design does. It creates pull, it builds credibility, and makes your brand feel magnetic. The goal isn’t just to look good. It’s to create a world your ideal customer recognises themselves in, and wants to step into.
ABOUT ME
Welcome, I’m Astrid. A French-born creator living in London, with an American accent.
Before working as a designer, my background was in fashion and beauty PR and marketing. I spent years around brands, campaigns, collaborations, and events, and I kept noticing the same pattern.
So much time would go into brand strategy, positioning, and messaging, but the visual side was rarely considered with the same level of intention. It never made sense to me, because in the real world, design is often the first thing people experience.
That gap is what pulled me into design.
For the past six years, I’ve been working with female-founded brands across beauty, lifestyle, wellness, and fashion, helping them bridge aesthetics and strategy across their websites, social media, campaigns, and more.
I believe good design doesn’t need to be loud to be effective. It needs to be confident, cohesive, and timeless. The kind of work that still feels relevant in a few year’s time, rather than something you’re forced to redo every time trends shift.
I grew up in Paris, surrounded by art, fashion, and design, which definitely shaped my eye. But for me, design has never been just about personal taste. It’s about your customer, your business, and the long-term vision of your brand.
That’s what DESIGN MATTERS is built on: design that supports your business, all while being aesthetically pleasing.
ABOUT MY CLIENTS
Most of the clients I work with are either launching a brand, or growing one that’s already successful. They’ve outgrown the “small business” look and understand that how their brand shows up visually shapes how they’re perceived by customers.
They’re not here for trends. They’re not trying to copy competitors or chase whatever’s working on Instagram this month. They want a brand that reflects their story, their values, their customers, and one they actually recognise themselves in.
Good design means they can focus on building the business instead of constantly questioning how it looks. The brand becomes a stable foundation across their website, social, and marketing, making their products and/or services more visually appealing, and attracting their ideal clients.
